Swissbit D2200 PCIe Gen5 eSSD: Performance and Efficiency for Enterprise Servers and Edge Data Centers
Swissbit is proud to announce the launch of its first series of PCIe Gen5 eSSD – the D2200 series! And so are we!
Designed for enterprise servers and edge data centers, this series offers exceptional performance with sequential read speeds of up to 14 GB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 10 GB/s. The new eSSD also excels in energy efficiency, with a sequential read performance reaching 970 MB/s per watt. This efficiency also impacts thermal management, thanks to an optimized hardware design and firmware enhancements that reduce heat generated by the server by up to 20°C!
Compatible with PCIe Gen4, the series supports NVMe 2.0 and OCP 2.0, ensuring future viability. Comprehensive data protection features, including TCG Opal 2.0, are integrated. The D2200 series will be available in U.2 and E1.S formats with capacities of 8 TB and 16 TB by the end of August, with a 32 TB version in U.2 format expected by the end of 2024.
The new D2200 series offers exceptional performance with minimal latency. Random access reaches up to 2.6 million IOPS for read and 500,000 IOPS for write, ensuring smooth and consistent performance for latency-sensitive applications. The enterprise SSD supports the NVMe Management Interface 1.2b (NVMe-MI) specification for efficient disk management and monitoring, even in the event of a primary system failure. With support for up to 128 namespaces, the D2200 also provides great flexibility and efficiency for cloud application virtualization and data management.

Availability:
Swissbit D2200 eSSD will be available at the end of August in U.2 (15 mm) format with capacities of 7.68 TB and 15.36 TB, and in E1.S (9.5 mm) format with a capacity of 7.68 TB. By the end of 2024, a 15.36 TB version in E1.S format and a 30.72 TB version in U.2 format will also be available.
